Got this Great Horned Owl this afternoon just north of Leamington in a small conservation woodlot. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

A birth certificate shows we were born.  A death certificate shows we died.  Pictures show we live.

Thanks. It was in a 10 acre woodlot where I have seen GHO's the past three years. I heard one hoot, so, I knew he was there. When I was walking around the edge of the bush, a group of noisy motorcycles drove through on the trail, which scared him out. The sun was on the wrong side, but I was able to lighten it enough to make it a decent picture. Usually I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time!

Sam, it may not be intentional, but your posts in this thread make it seem very much like you're trying to hijack farmer's thread to advertise your centre. It is rather rude to join an established community and call members names when they try to gently tell you the general etiquette on this forum, such as not posting your own photos in somebody else's thread under most circumstances, especially when it can be construed as an attempt at showing off and one-upping the original poster (again, not saying this was intentional), and keeping the captive birds to a minority of your posts while acknowledging that they are not the main purpose of the forum.

Please focus on the original post.
I've deleted the hijacking and dealt with it accordingly.

Well, I didn't realize i would stir up such a controversy with this subject! LOL No offence taken by me, I just enjoy this site for everyone sharing our love of birds. While the threads title was "Great horned owl inflight" I don't see it as a stretch for a newbie to post his own photo. However the rudeness after the explanation by lovemypt was unecessary! We all know there is a world of difference of an in fllght shot in the wild, and a captive one, it was ovbious in these posts. Keep posting every one, happy birding!

he had been warned before re: promoting his business. this was his second time spamming. the rudeness was not appreciated.
this is a site to talk about birding, not to promote your bird-related business.

so i had to lower the mod banhammer down for the first time.
