Earlier today I heard news reports that something was going to be "detonated" out at the Spit. However, I have since heard 680 News radio report that the police are in fact "incinerating" something hazardous this afternoon. Years ago there was an old train car kept out on Pipit Point that was used for detonating various small explosives! Hard to understand how the TRCA would still allow police to do anything potentially harmful out there! As far as I know though the Spit should be back to business as usual tomorrow.
