I headed out to high park this morning and it was well worth it!
6 Egrets, and a good 30 or more black crowned night herons. I took about 230 pictures, here are a few.
Black crowned night heron eating a catfish!

Great White Egret fishing,

Thanks for looking,
Rob

Thanks,
I guess that downpour we had Friday night had a huge effect on the catfish. Some bad run-off or something had these catfish gasping at the surface. The birds took full advantage of this situation.

Nice Pics Rob... Egret shots are Great!!! Yeah this weekend was a Photographers dream in High Park, I was there too and managed to snag a few 100 pics also  sample available here. I just hope there are enough fish remaining in the south pond to support the bird population for the rest of the summer. I was by there last nite and there were still about 10 Herons around although spread out more. No Egrets.. but maybe a Grebe in the middle of the three smaller ponds?
