I found this bird on the road by Grass Lake..I first thought young Bobolink or parent in summer colours, but it seems too early and the other birds were still in main breeding colours, can't to get my mind away from Bobolink but beak doesn't look right, anyone have another thoughts?

New thought...what about a juvenile Horn Lark??? looks good for picture but didn't think they bred this far south

Not entirely certain but it is reminiscent of a Pipit.

I agree with your second idea, juv. Horned Lark. The pale prairie subscpecies of Horned Lark breeds in Southern Ontario, while the nothern subspecies (with yellow throat) only is a winter visitor. Horned Larks breed over most of North America.

Thanks...I wasn't aware they were here in summer as never see one before after March, this was the only one like this that I saw today among lots of Bobolink and assort sparrows
