Snapping Turtle laying eggs

I stumbled upon this snapper late one evening as it was laying its eggs. Not the best pic as I only had my P&S.
The turtle was digging and laying eggs for over an hour. She layed at least 20 eggs, each about 1" in diameter.

Awesome timing and shots. What a great experience to see too.
There was a show along time ago about turtles and their survival, its amazing that they survive at all considering what the little ones have to go through to get to water after hatching.
