Great-crested Flycatcher, Baltimore Oriole, Ovenbird

Early today, I visited York Cemetery. The birds of note were: a pair of Great-crested Flycatchers calling to each other; an Ovenbird; a male Baltimore Oriole; and a White-crowned Sparrow. The Blue Jays are moving through. I saw 37 fly over the cemetery. I was surprised to see a ferret coming out of the woods. I don't think it will last long in the wild, because it was a pale blonde colour.

York Cemetery is in the Yonge/Sheppard area. It extends from Beecroft to west of Senlac. I was in the western part, past Senlac.

Hi Leslie, nice seeing you the other day at Mt. Pleasant Cemetary...Alice and I went back to the "bird tree" in plot 18 north of the visitors centre and saw a pair of Scarlet Tangers that posed for us for at least an hour. Lots of yellow rump "myrtles", palms, black and whites, a pr. of blackburnians near the "scripture" mausoleum, a male Rose breasted Grosbeak, chipping and white throated sparrows.
