Today, my friend Cindy and I birded Thickson's Wood and Cranberry Marsh. Our highlights at Thickson's were: 1 male Canada Warbler; a female Cape May Warbler; 1 Lincoln's Sparrow; and a pair of Scarlet Tanagers (the male was orange in colour).

At Cranberry, we had great looks at a Virginia Rail and a Sora. The Sora actually preened and sunned right in front of us! We also saw Bobolinks on Halls Road North. Directions: Make a left off Halls Road, make a right onto Lakeridge, make another right onto Dundas and the first left is Halls Road North. Drive along and watch for the birds on the left
