Today, my hubby and I visited Port Perry. We always stop at the causeway to see what's in the marsh on one side and what's on the lake on the other. We had 21 species. The birds of the day were 9 Black Terns and 2 American Bitterns. The terns were flying back and forth across the causeway. The bitterns flew in and out of the reeds. Near the edge of the marsh, one of the bitterns sat on a low tree branch and gave us a long look at it.
We also had: 1 Osprey hunting; 5 Turkey Vultures flying over; 3 Wood Ducks; and Swamp Sparrows that kept popping out of the reeds.
