Went for a walk, literally in "da hood".  A stealth-ninja-like dodge from the crazy machete wielding old man in the field and a group of gang banging thugs in the playground, I took in the wildlife I like to see, and was rewarded with a family of Red-tailed Hawks in my presence.

Pretty certain this is a juvi.  He was being screeched and screamed at by Robins, Chickadees, Nuthatches and Woodpeckers; and seemed to not really know why.  Then my appearance got his curiosity.  A few minutes later, another Red-tail let out a call from the distance, and he flew out to join the other (mom?) who was a couple hundred feet away in another tree.

I watched some soaring action of two Red-tails over the fields.  Eventually lost sight of them.   And about 30 minutes later, on my way out, I heard more songbird screeching near where I was parked and found this guy enjoying a meal of Pigeon.

A great moment with these birds despite the other people in the area and the blazing heat from Monday.

No, our backyard guy is safe for now.  I posted a video in the "backyard birds" section from this morning.

This area is on the other side of the tracks (the wrong side) and we live right across from it.

Ya, when it's not dull, it's REALLY not dull.  Machete man here.  Guns shots in the Spring with a Screech Owl.  Large naked gay man calling me into a bush at another birding area.  Etc.  Toronto has lots of wildlife, in every way shape form.

I was thinking maybe you should have your own section on this site. I know you have your blog, but with what you go through I think they should add another topic under "anything goes" something like "Rob's misadventures while birding" or "Rob stumbled upon...."
It would probably have the most views and would be quite entertaining.
Be careful out there.

We'd need a warning before entering that section for the violent and sexual content.  Maybe break them up into sub-sections?  Have a gross one too!  And lastly just plain ol' WTF?!?!

Hmmmm?  Good ideas for a book!  "Confessions of a Toronto Birder".

Lastly, on a more serious note, I thank everyone who gives my blog a read and comments to me one way or another either personally, PM, whatever.  I am trying to be more regular with it and suddenly have a number of stories to share, one just posted yesterday.
