Several years I would guess, they probaly moved in from Oakville.  Here is a video of a large herd west of Rattray Marsh:

There is also a small population at Marie Curtis Park/lower Etobicoke Creek and might be stragglers in other areas along the lakeshore.  Has anyone seen deer in Malton or along Mimico Creek when it crosses into Mississauga?

He should, what with they way his antlers are coming in. What girl would want a guy who's all crooked like that?  :D
There are loads in Rattray and surrounding area. My uncle lives right by the entrance to the marsh and he has herds of deer everyday.

DOTF, the herd you have in your video are regularily fed by the people in the houses on the North side of the street by that fence. They are there begging for apples and such everyday (the deer not the people) and it is one of the best places to see the "marsh" deer.

The school at the far west of the marsh also has deer in the early am before the kids show up.

I remember a few years ago, a small herd of 4 or 5 deer ran right throught the leash free at Jack Darling one morning. must have been 30 or 40 dogs there and not a single one of them saw the deer.

@Meghan -- Re: dogs not seeing the deer...it's amazing how they can go undected. I spent 4 years at Erindale College (UTM) and didn't see any deer until my final year. And once I saw them, I saw them all the time. They would cross the walkways as students made their way between the buildings -- unaware of the deer.

Is anyone aware of deer in the area of the mouth of Cooksville Creek ? There's a park (Adamson Estate) there with stands of forest but probably not big enough...just curious.
