Well... my first post here and I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying the comments and the amazing quality of pictures.  My partner Deanne and I live in Bowmanville and have the pleasure of backing onto the Bowmanville Creek / Conservation Area.  It is a great venue for our ever increasing interest in birding.  It started with some Blue Jays and peanuts....we can hand feed a few of them now.....and has turned into a great hobby for us.  Deanne is the photographer just for the record. I try but the camera doesn’t like me!

Long story short, our neighbor has a few feeders and we reap the benefit.  This past weekend was amazing with numerous Junco's and Purple Finches, among many others but this pic is of a female Cooper's Hawk that has been making frequent daily visit's the past few weeks and perched in our nieghbors yard.  There is a male counterpart but we have been unable to get a decent picture yet.  While the Mourning Dove population has dwindled somewhat we are thoroughly enjoying our new resident Hawks.
