This Barred Owl "invasion" sure is something.  The areas some are surfacing in Toronto are odd (to me anyways).  Here a few not from Halls Road that I have crossed paths with in the last few weeks.

Golden Hour.

4 really pissed off Crows led me to this guy below, just minutes from my house.

This Barred was right along a paved path, like 10 ft from it, and maybe 8 ft off the ground.

Halls Rd was the only one that was staying steadily in one area but may have moved on now.  These ones were around for a few days in the parks/woods here and are now gone as well.  Not much of a food supply?

One was seen in Queens Park yesterday.

For Mr. Sharp,
I've been at Hall's Road a few times this past month, and saw a Barred Owl as recently as Sunday afternoon when I was out and about with my kids. The day before that, he was along the waterfront trail by Hall's Road... so I don't think he / they (?) have left that area (yet). At least I hope not, because I sure do love seeing them when I am out that way!

Good eye to catch these.

I was planning on going to Hall's Road coming Tuesday weather permitting. Worth the trip ?

Was there on Friday and nada in sight. It was very slow. For them searching "off road" WE ARE NOT SUPOSED TO BE OFF THE MAIN TRAILS.  I was told 15 people got ticketed/fined between MNR and CLOACA "officers", so think twice before you go chasing into the bush/forests. Not sure what the issue was, most likely "harassing" the Barred Owl.  We did enjoy seeing a Muskrat over at the Lynde Shores side of things(as opposed to Cranberry Marsh) being very territorial chasing off every duck and goose it could see.

Thanks Frank.

Weather permitting will just go barred or not, should be lots of other things to keep busy.
