On the first day of winter at Sam Smith's we observed a very busy kingfisher looking for breakfast all over the marina and ponds. Wondered what he was still doing here but then realized he must have thought "why fly south, it's all over today".

There is still a Kingfisher hanging around the Etobicoke Creek at Marie Curtis Park, surprising given all the construction going on there, I also spotted to very skiddish common mergansers and a very skinny BCNH in a tree..the heron surprised me.
