Now that it's snowed, what's in your yard?

The snowy weather has brought the birds to my feeders. I have Downy and Hairy woodpeckers, White-breasted and Red- breasted nuthatches, chickadees, and 3 Common Redpolls. The local Cooper's Hawk zips through our yard and an adult Red-tailed Hawk was in the neighbours' tree. What goodies do the rest of you have?
BTW, happy new year to you all. May 2013 be a good year for all of us with plenty of great birds.

Hi Leslie,
Since the snow fell I've had only one 'other' bird show up at the feeders, it was a Junco.
Almost daily I get a Downy, 2 Cardinals, 5 Pigeons, 5-6 Chickadees, and about 100 Sparrows. Just before the snow came I removed the pump from the pond so I guess the 50-60 Starlings won't be coming back to bathe anymore. My Cooper's Hawk hasn't been around in quite some time now. It's been fairly quiet so far this winter in the yard.
Happy New Year and all the best to you, hubby and the family.
See you soon,
Walter

A pair of cardinals, a whole bunch of sparrows and a few squirrels. The juncos were around for a couple of days but no sign of the chickadees, RB nutcases or woodpeckers for the past few weeks? Happy New Year to all!

Chickadees, Juncos, Red-breasted Nuthatches, the odd White-breasted Nuthatch, Cardinals, House Sparrows, Pigeons, and a Downy Woodpecker with an occasional Red-Tailed Hawk in the neighbour's tree across the street.

The regulars are around and I'm excited.
The Darling Offspring trudged off to the Village (Bloor West) & carted back a small (9 kg) bag of black sunflower seed & some nijer seed. I filled the feeder with a mixture & put it up as well as some plain suet. I heard but didn't see a nuthatch. By Day 2 the chickadee had found the seed, by Day 3 the goldfinches, juncos, & cardinal. House finches are around. This morning a blue jay. I saw a Coopers this holiday a block away. So far it hasn't found the back yard, but I expect them back in the spring. The extra eyes saw a hairy & a downy recently, but I haven't noticed them at the suet.

Finally! about half a dozen redpolls showed up this morning but I'm now back to only sparrows. Even the squirrels are scarce!
I spoke too soon - the cardinals and juncos just appeared so maybe things are picking up after all!

I have to recant my previous statements
There are a few Am Goldfinches at my feeders
Chickadee's and a few House sparrows.
There are also approx 20 Cedar Waxwings visiting
a tree two doors down.
Napster

We've had Cardinals (Male & Female), Mourning Doves, American Goldfinches, Blue Jays & Sparrows.
Latest arrivals are Dark Eyed Junco's, Black Capped Chickadees & Downy Woodpeckers. Unfortunately a Red Tailed Hawk has discovered the backyard buffet and can often be seen checking out the situation. No evidence yet of him having taken advantage of the abundance of small treats.

Birding takes my mind off stuff and it adds good life to a tuff life. It also helps me forget about my spine pain and stress. Laugh, eat, be merry. Anybody with extra $ may send me some as It will permit me to travel.
