After seeing the beautiful pics of the snowy in St. Catherine's, I decided to take a drive out around Stayner and see if the Snowy's were back in the area. they were quite plentiful last year. Unfortunately, I decided to get all my other work done around the house before I took off, so it was well after 4:30 by the time I got out there. Good news... I saw 3 snowy's. Bad news... it was pretty dark due to the overcast skies and coming sunset...plus it started snowing lightly. This guy decided to pose, however ... but it was pretty windy when I got out of the car and I was blowing around pretty good with the camera !!! Oh well... back out tomorrow to see what I can get !!

A few more Snowy's this morning.... they were more interested in resting on top of the poles than hunting, though !!! Males this time.....

So lazy, though..... I think I needed a wingman to knock on the poles so they'd go for a fly .... they are so content just sitting there hour after hour !!! Same thing today ... coulda shot them with my iPhone , I'm that close to them !!

More, though not what I wanted. Very windy, so they stayed pretty close to the ground..... being able to catch one on a flyby is extremely difficult...they are much more adept at flying away from me than flying by or towards me. Certainly makes me realize how good the photos are on the other Snowy thread that Meghan did.....

I really like the setting in the first one. I'd take a snowy corn field over a green wheat field one any day.

Yes...between Strongville Road and Sideroad 2/3 on Concession 9.  I saw a female on Strongville this morning, but all the males were nowhere to be seen. I've tried to contact Meghan by PM, but it says they aren't being sent, just saved to my outbox. Let me know on here if they get through, Meghan. Thanks !!

Nice catch on the pine tree!!.I really like that one.
Don't know if it the same bird but the female on the barn is a real beauty
I think these birds are finally giving in and will reward your patience with some great shots.
By the way..is it ever sunny up there?     :D
Also, thanks, I received your PM

ANother photo of the latest female.... sitting still on a stump. Tried darkening the background to give her a little more contrast. I don't know when we will see sunshine and blue skies again !!!
