Just now

while standing on my deck I noticed the Cardinals next door were pip-ing quite frantically. I walked over to the corner of the deck to see what was going on..  I could see nothing.. Meanwhile under the feeders grazing on spilled seeds 6 Mourning doves all take flight.. I turn around and a Coopers hawk wips by at an amazing speed (navigating the trampoline net and the tree).  It powered away after a Mourning dove twisting and turning out of view across Derry Road..

Very impressive!!

This past week I have noticed Dove feathers under the feeders and just yesterday it was dead quiet at 4:00 pm as a Coopers took flight from a tree behind my house..

I notice you are in Milton.  What are good locations to go birdwatching in or close to Milton?

Mountsberg, Hilton Falls, Rattlesnake point are all conservations areas near the or on the Escarpment.

All have walking paths through treed areas.. look up Conservation Halton..

Personally, I like checking out the new drainage ponds in the town itself..
