Added a new species to my list today when I spotted several Killdeer at Downsview Park.  About 5 of them I would say.  Also took a few pics of a Red-Tailed Hawk on the ground and an somewhat artistic pic of a Red-Winged Blackbird.

I liked how this pic came out the black and white contrast and the red popping so nicely.


This hawk seemed like he was looking for something








Saw this guy and 4 others on the shores of that big pond

Love the RTH on the ground pictures, the Kildeers here alittle on the early side and could have a tough time getting enough to eat to survive till all the snow and ice is away from the pond

Thanks.  Downsview is a big park so it takes repeated visits to be in the right place at the right time as they say.

Enter at John Drury off of Sheppard (East of Keele and West of Dufferin/Allen) and go on Canuck until you see parking.  See map below. Hopefully that helps:
