Went looking for the Saw Whet today i think he has left as it seems people were feeding him mice and destroying his hiding place. If you do see him again please could you post again. Thank you.

I saw the Saw-Whet last Saturday... and then I read that some college students picked him up from his perch to get some photos with him in their hands. I too thought he'd left, however, I emailed a local birder who writes a column for the Durham Newspaper to ask about it, and she advised me that he was seen over the past week in that area, so she wasn't concerned about him. I looked this morning though, and did not see him - so perhaps he's just found a better hiding spot.
