What a great weekend to have off and go birdwatching.  Saw this one on my way home from Whitby sitting on the hydro wires by the Petro Canada station.

My wife had just bought new binocculars, but wouldn't watch, she wasn't very interested in seeing the pictures until I cropped out what was left of the rodent.

I think it was handled very well with a warning, so those who doesn't want to see it can skip, and those who are interested in viewing every aspect of nature can watch it.

I would much rather see this than a boring picture of a kestrel sitting around! Very cool shots in my opinion. (and it's not a rat, it's a meadow vole)

Nice catch Andy and great photos!  Me and the wife love a good horror movie once in a while, so no worries here. ;)  Congrats

I wasn't really sure if I should post the pictures, but once I put the disclaimer up I thought it might be OK.  It's not every day you get to see something like this, and it is such a beautiful bird.  All part of the circle of life.  I will try to be more careful in the future.
