I'm a hobbyist photographer as opposed to a birder. I've been going to Sam Smith park for the past couple of years, with an increasing appreciation for the variety of birds that come through there. Here's a few from this past weekend.

Nice variety! The Scaups are Greater Scaup (big, rounded head).

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the comments and corrections. As for being a birder, it would be something to aspire to. I'm always impressed by the veteran birders I run into when out snapping pics. Very knowledgeable about the behaviour and ecology of the various species. I'm happy to know about this site/forum, great to see everyone else's pictures and I'll also have a better idea what's out there.

Cheers.

That's exactly how it started with me! Now I'm hopeless. ;)  Congrats and welcome.
