Meet "Greeny", a long time resident of Toronto's High Park:

This domestic Bibbed Mallard was apparently born in the park and has lived on Grenadier Pond for the last 15 years.  Four months ago he was viciously attacked by a dog and his left wing was broken. Fortunately he was rescued by someone with a big heart. I just happened to be at the pond while his rescuer was releasing him, which is how I got the story. She stayed with him a long time; keeping him safe on the path until he was ready to enter the water. Apparently he has a few other mallard friends that she was hoping he'd be able to find.  Good luck Greeny!

Glad to hear he is doing great. I can't believe he's been around for that long.
Thanks Kris for sharing this story.
What ever happened to "Brownie"
