Yesterday we visited Ruthven Park near Cayuga / south of Caledonia.  What a plesant surprise!  I am also surprised to see it has not been mentioned here.  At least not recently that I can see.
On Wednesday mornings during the summer, they catch various birds in nets and band them or record recaptures along with other data.
Saw some birds I had not seen before.  Got to hld a few as well.  The volunteers are most helpful and willing to let you tag along.
There are other interesting things to see here as well as birds.
During the spring and fall migrations they are open more and reportedly capture a wider variety of birds.
Google Ruthven Park to learn more.

Ruthven Park usually only gets mentioned in the winter as it is a reliable spot to see a Tufted Titmouse or two at the feeders.  It's too bad that not more birders, at least from this forum, visit and report their sightings from this beautiful park.

Here is the website: http://ruthvenpark.ca/
