Any idea what has happened to the red admirals this year ?  I haven't seen one yet. Other butterflies seem to be scarce as well .

I haven't seen any Red Admirals or any Monarchs yet this year. I'm wondering if migration was terribly difficult this year and many of them died? We also have not seen anywhere near as many female hummingbirds. Some neighbours have reported they feel there are many fewer songbirds than usual. Non-migratory birds or those that only migrate when they need to seem to be in their usual numbers.

I sure hope to see a Monarch soon. It's worrying.

Hi.  I haven't seen any Red Admiral or Monarch this Summer either.  Usually see them at parks in Meadowvale and around the airport perimeter.

I'm not sure that we will see many monarchs this year so lets hope that things get better for the rest of the summer .

I saw my first Red Admiral today in my backyard.  Quite a change from last year, when I was tripping over them from early May on.
