While not a rarety they are fun to see. Where in Mimico would one find the Sycamore? That would be special for Toronto.

Good spotting! Never leave your bins at home.

the sycamore is located in an apartment complex called Amadeo Garden Court, right off of Lakeshore Blvd...it is here because this used to be an estate called Myrtle Villa that was also a horse farm. it was planted here specially over a hundred years ago by the original owner :)
the estate is still here as well, although sadly in need of repair...but it's a nice piece of history :)

more info can be found here: http://www.etobicokehistorical.com/Stories/Myrtle_Villa/body_myrtle_villa.html

luckily, the sycamore is right outside my third floor window, and has attracted quite the variety of little song birds that i normally never see in this area :)

I've seen a bunch of Golden Crowned Kinglets as well.... in fact, I saw both the Golden Crowned and the Ruby Crowned in the lambton woods about a week ago and both were quite numerous.

I was seeing Golden Crowned Kinglets in mid November as I went for walks through Rosetta McClain Gardens here in Scarborough.  There were usually about 10 of them mixed with Black-Capped Chickadees flying amongst the tall evergreens.
