At High Park yesterday, I got a chance to play with the light and angles a bit using a very co-operative Black-crowned Night Heron. Thought I would share some here demonstrating the 'colour range' of the feathers depending on light and angle.
In cloud and in the shadow of a tree

In bright sunlight but diffused by the shadow a tree

in cloud again and shot slightly from the back catching the 'colours' reflecting up a slight yellowish green

in sunlight again and shot slightly from the front - this also catches the 'colour' reflecting up but with the sunlight it becomes a much warmer shade

just a few observations on a walk in the park -
