When are they from? Havent seen a report for a couple of days..hoping thats becuz of inclimate whether as my first opportunity to see it will be this weekend.

I suspect that our NHO may stick around for most of the winter like the Port Hope NHO a few years ago. I shot these on Monday, but I know that it was seen yesterday.

The environment there is suitable, the street is not very well travelled so our little friend won't likely be roadkill, since it likes to hunt right beside the road.

Here's the directions again copied from Ontbirds:

To get to 10th Road East, take the Fifty Road exit off the QEW and follow it south and up the escarpment to where Fifty Road ( 11th Road East ) intersects with Ridge Road. Turn right on Ridge and go west to 10th Road East, turn left and go south towards the tracks.

We had one in our area (Kingston) a few years ago but no sightings since, they are a beautiful looking owl for sure.

Fifty road up the escarpment at this time of year? I use that route  as an escape/short cut  to hwy 20 during the summer when heading south to my parents house.. It is pretty scary in the summer..
