Today, I went on a walk around Colonel Sam Smith Park due to the number of reported sights recently on the Snowy Owl. It was very cold there, especially
further up where the winds would rip across you. Moving on, there were plenty of water birds. Both species of Scaup were present, American Robins, Mute Swans, Common
Goldeneyes and a sighting of a female Red breasted Merganser. I finally caught the Snowy Owl around Whimbrel Point and then it flew down to the docks. Clearly
it was a large and healthy female with a very nice wingspan as well. It was great to view my first owl to be seen in the wild!
