As snow fell this afternoon a large number of noisy finches appeared at the backyard feeders. And so did a few of the other kinds. I video taped their activities. While watching the video later I noticed that one of the female house finches had her right eye infected with conjunctivitis. I saw it for the first time back in 2012; but that was in the summer months. I didn't expect to see the infection in winter. Here's a short video of today's backyard activities. Cheers
