I recently received a reminder email from Cornell about the Great Backyard Bird Count, happening this year from February 14-17. For the past few years I've been participating with my son as a fun way to get him involved in birding. After the event I submitted a photo of him feeding a Chickadee at Lynde Shores into the photo contest. Not surprisingly it didn't win any prizes - hey the bird's not even in focus - but they did attach the photo to the email shown below! My son's reaction when I told him his little photo was probably sent to everyone who participated last year? "Cool. Thanks Mom."
