I heard an unusual cry and ran out on the balcony to spy two peregrine falcons cruising westward at about the 26th floor level. All I said was "Welcome to the neighborhood you beautiful birds!" when one of them veered back, swooped past me and landed on the edge of the roof of our building, two floors above me. Very exciting!
From the large size I suspect a female. She had a few squawking sessions in about 10 minutes then hopped off and soared away. No sighting since.
This is the first Peregrine I have seen in Canada. I joined this forum because it was the first place I found to report the sighting.
There were American Kestrels nesting nearby in 2012 but they only made a brief appearance in 2013.
