A friend and I went walking in the lower part of Earl Bales Park. The highlights were:
Two Eastern Phoebes in two different spots. They were both very vocal. These birds are so reliable. I find them here every Spring.
We also heard two House Wrens. One would sing and the other would sing back. They were hidden in a tangle.
Also, 1 Brown-headed Cowbird, Golden-crowned Kinglets, 1 Killdeer.
The pond area was still mainly frozen, but in some open water there were 2 Black Ducks. It will get busier as the ice melts.

We like to walk along Don River Road into the park. You can access Don River by turning into the road from Sheppard, just east of Bathurst.

Are you sure about the House Wrens? It would be very early for them, as they don't start to arrive until second half of April in the GTA. Winter Wrens, however, are moving through right now.

Yes. I reviewed the songs when I got home and it definitely didn't sound like Winter Wren.

That would likely be the first House Wrens reported in Ontario this year (none are reported on eBird).
