As I was about to leave the Wet Woods this afternoon about 3:30, a new and beautiful song joined the chorus. I looked up, and off to the left in a high tree was a Magnolia Warbler singing his heart out. In spite of the distance I got a decent look with my binoculars - bright yellow chest, necklace, dark back. The song matches the one on the Cornell site. What a surprise and a welcome sight. It was on the southern edge of the main part of the woods, closest to the lake - did it just fly in? It flew off to the East into more trees and scrub and by the time I treked over there I could hear it but never saw it again.
