A few from Downsview Today
on:
April 19, 2014, 09:38:57 PM
Spent the morning at Downsview Park today - looking for new arrivals. Saw the Snowy (reported earlier) together with lots of tree swallows. Interestingly the swallows were landing and inspecting the bird boxes that were lying on the ground. I am sure, erecting these bird boxes could help these guys in building their nests.
1-2: Tree Swallows
3-4: Savannah Sparrow
5-6: Horned Lark

Nice sightings. You know I could have sworn I saw Horned Larks yesterday but could not confirm...size seemed a bit too small and the rain didn't make it easy using the binos. I was wondering if they were still around.
Yeah it's just too bad about those bird boxes. Hopefully they'll be erected soon.

Great set of shots Dinu. Certainly lots of action. Must be because I am away. hehe
Here........ dry like a desert. Just one measly egret. Plenty of big kites flying around but too far to catch. Grrrr

Ramesh, there will still be plenty of action left when you are back from Hong Kong. I have a feeling that because of a longer winter the actions may peak right about the time you get back. Get yourself ready for long days at the Osprey pond.

Nice!
The second shot of the Savannah Sparrow is great.
Love your Larks as well.
