Very handy! The bird landed just over ten feet from me and started foraging.

Very nice Paul.  I saw you setting up the chair just before I left the park for Thickson road.

Nice job Paul...man you have patience.  Hours in the wet swamp with wet feet waiting for the right opportunity.

Thanks hoodlum. Very nice Gnatcatcher; I haven't managed one of them yet.

Thanks Luc. The patience part is hard but I am learning; a few minutes before the bird flew in I was about to give up but decided to give it a little bit longer.

Thanks spatsycat. No worries about that; the bird hadn't shown up yet when you walked by.

You have to love that last shot Paul, with him peeking out from behind the tree. The moss on it really shows off the bird. Great composition.

Thanks Meghan.

I am really happy with all of them but yes, the moss on the peek-a-boo shot does show it off.

Reading through the post it is clear that one needs a lot of patience to have such a series of great photos. I saw and photographed my first (only half the bird) one in CSSP and thanks to your photo I didn't discard it thinking it was just another female RWB.

Thanks Dinusaur.

The hardest part for me still is learning patience. I was at the Wet Woods for just over eight hours yesterday and got nothing. Sometimes patience doesn't pay off but when it does, as it did for these Waterthrush shots, it really pays off.
