I watched two groups of Bobolinks at Col. Sam Smith Park this afternoon - the largest - perhaps 8+ in the open field W of the parking lot towards the marina storage yard. There were also 2+ in the grassy area on the Western shoreline - turn right when you reach the fork in the road for Whimbrel Point. Savannah Sparrows were with both groups. Two male Indigo Buntings were seen in a high willow tree towards the N end of the Dogwood Patch. Many wonderful birds everywhere. However the Gardiner Expressway is a true nightmare if you are heading to Col. Sam from the East end. Be warned!
