I had a Laughing Gull (see details below) among a large number of gulls, including 2 late Iceland Gulls west of RK McMillan Park today. Also a Black-billed Cuckoo flying from the park over the water to the mainland, a Common Loon close to shore and all swallow species except Tree :!:

Laughing Gull 1 Dark-headed gull, about the size of a Long-tailed Duck (could compare as they were fairly nearby each other). Bill much longer and thicker than Bonaparte's Gull, with a slight hook at the end. Bill looked dark, but the light was pretty bad. White eye-ring, mainly behind the eye. Mantle darker than Ring-billed Gull with black wing tip without spots. On the west side of the tip of the park. Scope necessary for good views.
