Took a walk today in German Mills park and I heard some sort of almost clucking-type sounds emanating from the nearby woods.  It even sounded a bit Bittern-like...but obviously it couldn't have been that.  Wasn't sure what it was at first until I thought it might have been Yellow-Billed Cuckoos.  There's a recording on my phone ap that matches part of it...but would they be repeating only one type of sound without the initial build-up or intro?  I've never heard YB Cuckoos so I don't have a lot to go on.

Any ideas?

Cuckoos can do all sorts of sounds including what you describe. That's possibly what it was

Thanks Reuven.  I may pay another visit, maybe I'll catch a glimpse of them.  The only problem is that the sounds came from a steep uphill and a fence was in my way too...just not very conducive to good birding.

Another possibility is Eastern Chipmunk.
