Hi all,

I am from Hong Kong and will be travelling to Toronto and staying there for a few days in the first few days of October.  I think I can spare one or two half-days for birding.  I am not driving.  Which location(s) would you suggest for birding within Toronto?  I note from the web that the Woodlands Area of Rouge Park is part of the Toronto's "Bird Flyways".  Would it be good for birding in early October?  Any other suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Colonel Sam Smith Park (bus 44 to its end at the lakeshore from Kipling Station at the end of Bloor Subway line)  and High Park (on the Bloor subway line) are probably the most suitable good birding locations without a car.

Thank you for your information.  I checked the information about these two parks, and found the High Park very attractive.

Hi.  Definitely check out the truly beautiful High Park - so much to see and do there!  8)  If it's running, go for a ride on the trackless train.  http://www.highparktrains.com/

Also worth considering are the Toronto Islands. I don't get there very often, but they can be a great place for birding.  They're also very easy to get to if you are staying downtown.
