I spent the entire day birding today, starting at Sedgewick Park in Oakville and working my way east, ending at Lakefront Promenade Park in Mississauga. Lots of highlights, despite the waves and wind. Hopefully lots of this stuff will still be around for the Christmas Bird Count.
Sedgewick Park
5 Species of Warbler (Tennessee, Wilson's, Nashville, Orange-crowned, Yellow-rumped). The Parula may have moved on or perished.
4 Winter Wren

Oakville Harbour
2 White-throated Sparrows mixed with some House Sparrows
2 Great Black-backed Gulls
Arkendo Park
2 Common Raven, circling over the mouth of the creek and calling frequently, seemed to be staying in the area. The big industrial buildings east of here would be suitable for nesting, will Mississauga get its first modern nesting next year?

2 American Wigeon
Water's Edge Park
1 Winter Wren

Rattray Marsh
There was a very large and active mixed flock of birds along the creek just upstream of the new bridge, including:
1 Fox Sparrow
1 Red-winged Blackbird (immature male)
2 Winter Wren
6 White-throated Sparrow
Along with many robins, chickadees, woodpeckers, kinglets etc.

Among many other gulls, I had what I believe to be a juvenile Thayer's Gull. Still getting some more experienced gull-watchers to weigh in.
