While I was out in my backyard, I heard leaves rustling just to the right of my house.  I saw a big animal trotting along.  As I looked closer, I could see that the animal was a big Northeastern Coyote.  The Northeastern Coyote went into my neighbor's yard and then trotted along Lake Promenade towards Marie Curtis Park.

Did you check out the post in the wildlife photography section with link on research on coyotes in Col Sam's ? Interesting stuff about their range.

Thank you for the link Axeman.  I just checked it out now.  It is interesting because the Northeastern Coyote I saw was more red and white in colour like the Northeastern Coyote in the second picture and the Northeastern Coyote in the third picture on the right side, as opposed to the other 2 Northeastern Coyotes that are more brown and grey.  I am really surprised that you have never seen a Northeastern Coyote in your area.  Could the red and white Northeastern Coyote in the 2 pictures be a Coydog?

If you read my last post in that thread I wrote that Coyote #2 is most likley a Coydog due to it being a little chunkier and holding its tail erect.

I hear them here and we had a coyote kill a deer right in front of our house but...nope...no sightings...well, I have seen dead coyotes due to hunting.
