Sorry to appear so ignorant (or lazy) but when I was running Win XP I would connect the camera, turn it on and only the image files would appear onscreen making it easy to copy them to the computer. When I do the same thing in Win 7 Pro I end up with all the directories and sub-directories from the memory card. Does anyone know how to extract only the image files from the camera using Win 7?

Have you downloaded the camera software?
I'm on Win 7. After I downloaded the camera software I plug in my camera, turn it on and a page comes up with various options one of which is to download photos.

Sorry I ignored you for so long but after no replies for a few days I gave up checking this thread. Re the camera software, no I haven't tried it but (if I can find the box it came in!) I'll give it a try. Thanks. :)

If you can't find the CD, you can probably download the software from the camera company website.

May be I am not reading your problem right. Your Win 7 reads the camera memory card as just another file system. Open the subdirectory and you should see all your image files. Just drag and drop to another folder in your computer, either one image at a time or the entire subdirectory.
