I am a frequent visitor to Humber Bay East.  As many of you know, there are a few fruitful Red Necked Grebe nests currently in the park.  One is by the metal board walk near the entrance to the park.  There is a stump in the water, and it looks like the nest is either attached or anchored near it.  It is a very popular spot to view the process of nest building, eggs and hatchlings.

The mating pair had 7 eggs in the nest until today!!!

SomeONE or something destroyed the nest!  I have pictures on my FACEBOOK account should you wish to view what I saw.  There is a pari nearby building a nest, I suspect it is the same pair that was on the nesting box.  One of the pair has deep scratches on her neck.

Last year, I reported someone tried to SNAG the grebes and succeeded in damaging a Cormorant.  I am suspecting the same morons are back at it in the park!

If anyone has any other information on this event, please fill me in.

Thanks,
