I've notice this before but two nights ago it kind hit home

We live near 16 mile creek and one of it small tributary's in Milton. Coyote's are very near the area every evening

we hear them yelping after dark etc.  Derry rd is a main thoroughfare for emergency vehicles rushing East, West and

South onto Hwy 25. On many occasions, shortly after a group of emergency vehicles have passed with siren's

blaring the Coyote's come to life and start Yelping for an extended period of time.

Anyone else noticed this? Are they responding to something in the frequency of the sirens?

I dunno

Yup, heard a similar thing at Lambton Woods here in Toronto. Cop car or ambulance (not sure which) was travelling along Dundas St with the siren going. The coyotes stated howling and continued to do so until the siren could no longer be heard.

Cool observation...I'll try to listen for that when I'm out there.

A few days ago I googled coywolf howls and found a youtube documentary titled something like mysteries in the woods....anyway the filmmaker observed what he identified as coywolves howling in answer to fireball alarms...his camera was near fire station and he said it was routine....each time the alarm sounded, they howl...the vid is shot in the US.
