Hi everyone.  This afternoon at Lake Aquitaine, I sighted a Budgie (Blue & White).  First time I've ever seen a budgie at any Meadowvale parks and I've been in this area since 1994!  Sighted at West end close to the public washroom, pecking the ground.

I saw him (her) about a week ago and again today at about 4pm.  He's mixng in with the sparrows and eating bird seed off of the benches near the turtles . Looks healthy and is flying very well.  Last week i actually coaxed him to land on my hand!l

Wow, Bob - that's really something else!  I haven't seen this bird since April 19th (first and only sighting).  Today just before 2pm, a Sharpie was circling around NW section of the lake.  I wonder if he would go after this Budgie?

Hi everyone.  Sighted at 9am this morning, the Blue & White Budgie is still at Lake Aquitaine, West end close to the dock.

Looks like a job for "Budgie Busters" (Rob, where are you??). The problem is what to do with the bird after catching it. Btw, most budgies are tough as nails and can survive outside in pretty extreme conditions so this one will probably last well into the winter.

Well, he was there again this morning at 8am.  Some sort of very large Gull swooped down and almost caught him!  The budgie flew to a nearby tree and managed to escape capture.  Didn't even know that a gull would go after a budgie!  Figured a hawk would do this - meanwhile, haven't been seeing any hawks in the neighbourhood for quite awhile.

Update: first week of September and he's still here!  Lots of people sighting the Budgie at West end of Lake Aquitaine.

Update 2:  Meadowvale Community Centre is now open!

I saw the budgie again this past week on Wed Oct 19th. He was flirting with the sparrows at the building near the lookout.    I hope he has his woolies stashed nearby.

Hi Bob.  He certainly has an abundance of House Sparrows to choose from.

Do you happen to have any photos of this Budgie?
