May 3 -
Was pretty quiet in the afternoon.
Saw my first of the year Northern Mockingbird
The cormorants looked to be chasing a school of fish in the marina - lots of birds flying in and out in groups with lots of fishing going on.

And the usual suspects...including
Hermit thrush - 6
Brown thrasher - 3
White-throated sparrow
Song sparrow
Chipping sparrow
Yellow rumped warbler

Full list on ebird.

We went down tonight. We saw the Warbling Vireo, Ovenbird, Yellow Warbler and a pair of Towhees. The most excitement started when a trio of FISH CROWS flew in, calling, landed briefly and flew off. Not sure how rare this is. Unfortunately we did not see or hear them again.

Fish Crows are quite rare but reports appear to be more frequent recently.

a frustrating moment. noticed that a birder (who used to post on here) reported a yellow-throated warbler. that he saw. this afternoon.
reported it at 8:30 PM.
hoping he waited because he got tied up at work and not for other reasons.

Sorry about the late post yesterday - I lost sight of the bird pretty quickly yesterday.

A yellow-throated warbler or a common yellowthroat?
