One of the hottest and driest summer in recent memory has now faded into Fall. And with it came migration. One of my beloved birds, the Ospreys had mostly moved on except for a few stragglers - a few weeks in the summer I had fun watching them dive into a local pond. Then I heard of a wonderful place called Nanquon Sewage Lagoon - after getting the permit I made quite a few trips there and it yielded four lifers for me. After making numerous birding walk in Tommy Thompson Park I finally got myself a folding bike and went there to see the Buff-breasted Sandpiper - another lifer. A few trips to Presqu'ile produced some wonderful shorebird sightings. Made a trip to Bayfront Park in Hamilton to see the Brant. And last but not the least a Franklin's Gull in Valley Inn in Burlington. Enjoy the rest of the fall.
1. Osprey with a pair of fish. It seems that every summer since 2014, I have photographed at least one instance where I have seen an Osprey coming out of water with a pair of fish, sometime a pair of catfish while other times such as this a pair of goldfish.
2. Baird's Sandpiper at Presqu'ile.

4. Brant (or Brent) Goose - in front of a pair of Canada Geese for comparison. Bayfront Park, Hamilton.
5. A first winter Franklin's Gull with a pectoral sandpiper in the foreground at Valley Inn, Burlington. Note the black band at the tip of Gull's tail, indicative of a 1st winter bird.
