Saw this one this afternoon around 2:30 on a small beach nearing the housing complex, north east corner of Colonel Sam Smith Park. It was all by itself among the mallards. I know it is difficult to id it definitely without a Greater Scaup beside it, I hope I got the ID right for this one. Thanks in advance. I also saw an American Pipit foraging on the ground and the continuing King Eider just west of Whimbrel Point.

I just checked yesterday's (Jan 8) eBird report and this bird was identified as a female lesser scaup. I also went through the website that was mentioned earlier in the forum and it confirms this as a lesser scaup as well from its head shape and bill size. Great, it is a life bird for me. Thanks for looking.
