The Coopers hawk which I spotted last year nesting in my backyard, has been doing some early morning maintenance the last few days. The nest was raided last year by Crows and Turkey Vultures killing the offspring. I typically only see one hawk throughout the year (i.e which tends to spook some of the birds at my feeder - Blue jays, Cardinals, woodpeckers), but this morning there were 2 making hi speed manoeuvres through the forest. Not sure if this was a potential mate or an infringement on territory, but it's quite amazing how fast they fly through a thick forest!
