Purple Finches have been few and far between lately (they usually are anyway). I've had a couple visit this spring so far. This one today, April 16, 2017. Brampton.

Beautiful shot and beautiful bird. The Purple Finch is the bird that Roger Tory Peterson famously described as a “sparrow dipped in raspberry juice.”

Thanks Paul. The Purple Finch continues at my feeder today which is not the norm. Usually they are a one day wonder.
