Managed to see and photograph the male Ruff that was reported on eBird. What a magnificent bird. It started raining when I arrived at the location; and remained overcast during my stay. The bird was foraging far away from the Grey Bruce Line in a flooded field with a lot of yellowlegs and pectoral sandpiper.

Great photos.  Is it an escaped bird?

I don't think so. They do show up in this region as occasional vagrant.

Great sighting Dinu.  I was on my way to it but because I left work late and the drive was nearly 3 hours I scrapped the plans.  Now I regret it lol...what a gorgeous bird.

Stunning plumage, I think about a year ago one showed up somewhere in Ontario but didn't stay around long. Rare bird to get to see for sure.

There seems to be an influx of these birds. I got to see the one near Cookstown today, not quite as far trip.

If it is still there today; hope others will be able to make the trip and see it. It is definitely closer.
